I’m beginning to see some ominous events which contribute to a bleak outlook on America’s future. We have the OPEC leaders campaigning the rest of the oil producing countries to raise the price of oil, at the same time as the United States is finanally experiencing a much needed break in the gasoline prices. The blatant disregard for the toll the increased oil price is having on the rest of the world is highlighted with Iranian Oil Minister Gholamhossein Nozari’s boast: “The era of cheap oil is finished,” and “The more the better” when asked what price Iran would want for its oil.
OPEC’s president, Chekib Khelil, wants to see production slashed, and has urged non-OPEC oil producers, such as Russia, Mexico and Norway, to follow the cartel’s lead and cut production in an effort to increase prices. Price fixing is illegal in the United States, yet we continue to pay billions of dollars to governments colluding on price and artificially lowering supply to increase demand. Now these same governments are calling for an OPEC-like cartel for natural gas. Where will it end? That’s an easy answer. With American independence.
Americans are funding these countries who are using our revenues for weapons and nuclear programs. We have to stop. These Middle East countries have balanced books because of our dependence on their oil. We have $10.4 trillion in debt. And growing.
Another ominous incident was a statement by Vice Presidentail candidate Joe Biden. “Mark my words. Within the next first six months of this administration, if we win, they’re going to — we’re going to face a major international challenge because they’re going to want to test him.” Now is not the time for the United States to experience another terrorist incident. And if one does come our way, its likely going to be funded by the proceeds from US oil purchases from OPEC countries.
