I wrote about my concerns about Mayor Bandy’s frivolous treatment of flooding here in Eagle, Idaho in an earlier blog entry. And now I notice a large banner announcing “Flood Insurance” hung across the entryway of an insurance agent in downtown Eagle. This guy appeared to be a solid supporter of Bandy for Mayor. Doesn’t he realize he’s going against his chosen leader’s wishes that we have no floods here in Eagle? The nerve of him selling insurance to people who will never need it, because Mayor Bandy has proclaimed that it will never happen.
And what is most disturbing is the insurance agent’s express disregard for the new Mayor’s new terminology. The banner should read “High Water Insurance.”

I remember Mayor Bandy telling us in the debates that the planning was so great that high water insurance wasn’t needed in Eagle. Is the planning so great that we won’t need to pump water into our beloved foothills when they are filled with houses?
