It appeared to me that your political opponents were willing to do or say anything (half-true or blatantly false) to get elected. Now that Bandy has won I hope he understands that he is the mayor of the thousands that supported you as well as those who gave their support to him. Mr. Bandy used his "comments" time on Jan. 8 to laud the outgoing city officers, so we know he can say nice things if he wants to. However, Mr. Bandy goofed by failing to acknowledge not only Saundra's presence at his mayoral installation , but also to mention the close runoff election and that subsequently he will represent all the voters and residents. Obviously, neither graciousness nor political smarts in dealing with opposing opinions are his strong suit. Let's hope he improves his public relations skills as time goes on. Olive branch, indeed.
