About Saundra

Attorney and Law Professor Saundra McDavid has been a go-getter all of her life. The daughter of a jazz musician father and a U.S. Army executive mother, she grew up in a middle class suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Setting high goals for herself, Saundra went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Kansas, after which she was accepted into both the University of St. Louis School of Law and School of Business, earning both a law degree and an MBA. It was during that time she met and married her husband, Andrew Petrehn.

After passing the Missouri Bar and opening a law practice to counsel businesses on various legal and information technology issues, Saundra’s success in that field led to an offer to become Director of IT at MicronPC. She and her husband chose Eagle as their new Idaho home where large equestrian lots could be found as well as a promising downtown business area.

Saundra McDavid has been a visible advocate for responsible growth planning in Eagle city for several years. She and her Preserve Eagle platform supporters challenged the city’s leadership in that regard during her 2007 election campaign for Eagle Mayor. The Preserve Eagle platform has become a positive influence on the direction the city now is taking in planning for growth. The issues of open space, air quality and traffic, available water resources, and costs of services and infrastructure remain high priorities in Saundra’s thinking for the future quality of life in the Treasure Valley.

Now “retired” from corporate work in order to spend more time with her family, Saundra works as an adjunct Law Professor. She continues to run her successful technology consulting business and to remain an active member of the community.

Saundra and Andrew own the popular Rib Shack restaurants in downtown Eagle and downtown Meridian. Their two children attend school in Eagle.
